Fifty years ago, a fighter at the University of Wisconsin named Charlie Mohr was killed in the ring, spelling the end for NCAA-sanctioned college boxing. I wrote about Mohr (who at one point, underwent shock treatment for psychological problems) at SI.com. He's a pretty fascinating emblem of a bygone age.
